Ben jij een echte filmliefhebber? Vorm jij snel een mening over film? En vind je het leuk om deze openbaar te maken voor een groter publiek? Dan ben jij het nieuwe redactielid dat wij zoeken!
Wij zijn op zoek naar mensen tussen de 18 en 25 die het leuk vinden om te denken, te praten en te schrijven over films en ons team van vrijwillige redactieleden willen versterken.
LA RIOT: wie zijn wij?
LA RIOT is onderdeel van filmhuis Rialto. Rialto draait films van over de hele wereld, dus ook niet-westerse cinema krijgt de aandacht die het verdient! LA RIOT is een platform voor en door jonge mensen, met het doel arthouse cinema toegankelijk te maken voor jong publiek. Dit doen wij op vrijwillige basis.
Op ons eigen blog nemen we de nieuwste arthouse films en documentaires kritisch onder de loep, doen we verslag van filmfestivals en delen we onze favorieten lijstjes.
Daarnaast organiseren wij, op verzoek van de redactie, filmavonden waar filmliefhebbers en geïnteresseerden samenkomen om de nieuwste films te bekijken. Dit kan een voorpremière van een grote arthouse klapper zijn of juist een verborgen juweeltje waarvan wij overtuigd zijn dat iedereen hem gezien moet hebben! Deze vertoningen combineren we graag met een randprogramma, zoals een inleiding door een expert of een Q&A met de regisseur. Onze filmavonden worden afwisselend op één van de twee Rialto locaties georganiseerd.
Wat doe je als LA RIOT redactielid?
- Je kunt je maandelijks inschrijven voor een film naar keuze om te recenseren.
Recensie, rubriek, interview, vlog, festivalverslag, fotoserie, schets: verschillende vormen zijn mogelijk en we staan open voor jouw ideeën! - Je helpt mee met de organisatie van onze filmavonden.
Als redactielid denk je voorafgaand mee over de filmkeuze, de randprogrammering en de aankleding, en ben je aanwezig op de filmavonden in Rialto om te zorgen dat alles goed verloopt. - Je woont onze redactievergadering in Rialto bij.
Bij deze vergadering bespreken we het verloop van de filmavonden en de site.
Wat bieden wij?

Are you passionate about films? Do you form quick opinions about them? And would you like to share your opinions with a bigger crowd? Then we are looking for you!
We are looking for people between the years of 18 and 25 who like to think, talk and write about films and who would like to join our team of voluntary editorial members.
LA RIOT: who are we?
LA RIOT is part of arthouse cinema Rialto. Rialto shows films from around the world, which means that Non-Western cinema also gets the attention it deserves! LA RIOT is a platform which thrives to make arthouse cinema accessible and interesting for a young audience. We make this possible with a young team of voluntary editorial members.
You can find us online! On our website you can find reviews of the new arthouse titles and documentaries, reports about film festivals and list of our all-time favourites.
We also host monthly movie nights where people who are passionate about and interested in film come together to watch the newest films. We sometimes host special pre-release screenings of big titles in the arthouse scene. We also like to select hidden jewels no one has ever heard of, because we are convinced everyone should have seen this title at least once! We often combine our movie nights with a special introduction from an expert, a Q&A with the director or something else connected to the film. We try to alternate our movie nights between the two different Rialto locations.
What will be expected from you as LA RIOT editorial member?
- Every month you can sign up to review a film of your choosing.
We also like to see as many ideas and creative forms on our website as possible! Think of: an interview, a vlog, a collage, a sketch etc. - You will help organize the movie nights.
You help decide which films we will show during these nights, which specials we will add to it and how we will shape the entire evening. You will also be present during the evening to keep an eye on everything and make sure the evening goes according to plan. - You will be present during the editorial meetings.
During these meetings we discuss the planning of upcoming movie nights, but also how previous editions went. We also discuss our website and how all the contributions fit together.
What do we offer?
- Unlimited access to films at Rialto, at both locations.

- The opportunity to gain experience with organizing events and how to, creatively, give shape to these evenings.
